Position Overview:
As our Child Care Nurse Consultant (CCNC), you'll work alongside childcare providers and families to promote healthy, safe, and inclusive childcare environments. This is a rewarding opportunity to combine nursing, education, consultation, and community outreach while making a lasting difference in the lives of children.
Responsibilities:
- Provide health and safety consultation to childcare providers.
- Educate childcare professionals on best practices for caring for children, including those with special healthcare or developmental needs.
- Connect families with immunizations, developmental screenings, dental care, and other essential health services.
- Coordinate with community partners to improve access to healthcare resources.
- Deliver trainings and technical assistance using Healthy Child Care Iowa resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting while ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Qualifications:
- Required: Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Iowa or Multi-State (compact state) licensure
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related degree, or minimum of two-years’ experience as a RN in community health, public health, pediatric practice, or other pediatric health setting
- Experience in public health, maternal and child health, health education, or community health is preferred.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- A team player who is passionate about supporting children, families, and early childhood professionals.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current vehicle insurance.
